Post Orgasmic Chill [ECD]
POST ORGASMIC CHILL is an Enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Skunk Anansie: Skin (vocals, vibraphone, Theremin); Ace (acoustic & electric guitars); Cass (acoustic & electric basses, programming); Mark (drums, percussion). Additional personnel: Andy Wallace (Hammond B-3 organ). Recorded at Bearsville Studios, Woodstock, New York and Clinton Studios, New York, New York. Skunk Anansie has tended to visit Heaven and Hell in alternate breaths. Though POST ORGASMIC CHILL is less extreme, the songs still plummet from the highest, hardest of metal rages into the most blissful and plaintive of whispers. What sets this album apart from the previous two is the subtle use of electronica, unusual percussion, and even snippets of jungle-perhaps a belated response to Skunk Anansie's sampling by the Prodigy. The first track "Charlie Big Potato" is typical. After a brief drum-and-bass intro, Skunk Anansie launches into a thumping guitar motif and incredible vocals that leap from a hushed murmur into passionate screams of anguish. The repetitive, churning guitar themes latch onto the brain while, in contrast, the very American string arrangements add extra emotive power. Skin's incredible voice iscelebrated for articulating black-feminist rage, but it is just as wonderful on the ballads. These were actually the band's more successful singles. CHILL includes "You'll Follow Me Down," "Lately," and "Secretly," which exhibits a terrifically impassioned, empowering response to infidelity and a lovely, uncharacteristic haze of guitars in the central section. Recorded at Southern Tracks Recording, Atlanta, Georgia; Thrill Hill Studios, New Jersey; The Sound Kitchen Recording Studios, Franklin, Tennessee. THE RISING won the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. "The Rising" won the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best Rock Song and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. THE RISING was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Award for Album Of The Year."The Rising" was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Award for Song Of The Year. Considering that the last time Bruce Springsteen collaborated with the E Street Band for a full album of new material was on 1984's epochal BORN IN THE USA, it's entirely appropriate that their 2002 album THE RISING should be forged from images strongly linked to the events of September 11th, one of America's most trying times. Virtually every song here is related to that tragedy either directly or indirectly. Some, like the surging "My City in Ruins" and the melancholy "Empty Sky" largely eschew metaphor, while othersapproach the situation from more oblique angles. "Mary's Place" is a rousing roots-rocker about finding joy in the face of sadness, while both the Eastern-flavored "Worlds Apart" and the homegrown "Let's Be Friends" address the need for communication and understanding between disparate entities. Musically, many of THE RISING's songs are in wide-screen, anthemic mode, as Bruce and company attempt to rally their wounded country with positivity and clear-eyed optimism without shrinking from unpleasant reality. The interstitial ballads take the poignant storytelling mode Springsteen employed on his last new album, 1995's THE GHOST OF TOM JOAD, and apply it to THE RISING's more universal themes. Whatever the format, the enthusiastic camaraderie of the E Streeters and their Boss is audible and infectious. SKU: 1073688

Things Fall Apart
The Roots: Black Thought, Malik B, Leonard Nelson Hubbard, Kamal, Shou-Out, Rahze. Additional personnel: Ursula Rucker (spoken vocals); Anthony Tidd, Warren Wimbly, Spanky (guitar); Igor Szwec, Emma Kumrow (violin); David Garnet, Larry Gold, Deidra Murry (viola); D'Angelo, Scott Storch, James Poyser (keyboards); Bob Powers (synthesizer); Shawn Gee (hand claps); DJ Jazzy Jeff (DJ); The Jazzy Fatnastees, Lady B, Dice Raw, Eve Of Destruction, Mos Def, Common, Marie Daulne, Beenie Siegal, Erykah Badu (background vocals). Producers: The Grand Wizzards, Chaos, Scott Storch, James Poyser. Engineers include: Keith Cramer, Axel Niehaus, Kelo. "You Got Me" won the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance By Duo Or Group. THINGS FALL APART was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Hip-hop is about presence. Whether party- or street-oriented, it tends to keeps its listeners firmly centered in their own skin: hands in the air, guard your grill, watch your back. In spite of the blunted ethos of the late '90s and the emergence of trip-hop, it's a rare hip-hop record that causes your eyes to go out of focus and your brain to operate freely in that space that makes us describe music as "deep." THINGS FALL APART achieves that distinct sort of transcendence perhaps because it is not trying to save, reinvigorate, or resurrect the artform. As the title (taken from Chinua Achebe's novel on the loss of traditional African culture during colonization) suggests, the record takes the death of hip-hop as its starting point. Where earlier Roots albums captured the live feeling of the open mic/jam sessions for which they are now internationally famous, TFAadds a newer wrinkle of arrangement and studio mastery. The layers and echoes occasionally (as on "100% Dundee") give you the sensation that you're wandering through one of those jam sessions in a detached, even feverish state--a perfect snapshot of hip-hop on the eve of the millennium. Hits
Personnel: Joni Mitchell (vocals, acoustic guitar, guitar, dulcimer, piano, electric piano, keyboards); James Taylor (acoustic guitar); Robbie Robertson, Jose Feliciano, Larry Carlton, Steve Lukather (electric guitar); Larry Klein (guitar, bass, percussion); Stephen Stills (guitar, bass); Sneaky Pete Kleinow (pedal steel guitar); Tom Scott (woodwinds, horns); Graham Nash (harmonica, background vocals); Joe Sample (electric piano); Larry Williams (synthesizer); Wilton Felder, Max Bennett, Jim Hughart (bass); John Guerin (drums, percussion); Russ Kunkel, Vinnie Colaiuta (drums); Milt Holland, Bobbye Hall, Alex Acuna (percussion); The Saskatunes, The Lookout Mountain United Downstairs Choir, David Crosby (background vocals). Producers include: Joni Mitchell, Larry Klein. All tracks have been digitally remastered using HDCD technology. HITS and MISSES, released on the same day in October 1996, are, amazingly enough, the first compilations of Joni Mitchell's work. Mitchell is one of the most influential singer-songwriters of the rock era. By incorporating poetic lyricism and a jazzy harmonic sensibility into the troubadour tradition, she paved the way for everyone from Rickie Lee Jones to Sting. HITS features some of the best-known songs from her immense repertoire (MISSES highlights equally important, but less commercially successful, compositions). HITS begins and ends with early, acoustic guitar-based material. "Urge For Going" (previously unavailable on CD) and "Both Sides Now" both yielded reams of cover versionsby the likes of Judy Collins, Tom Rush and countless others. Moving on through the stylistically divergent phases of Mitchell's career, the lush pop songs "Help Me" and "Free Man In Paris" segue into the starkly confessional piano ballad "River" and the slippery, jazzy feel of "Chinese Cafe/Unchained Melody," adorned by Larry Klein's Jaco-manque fretless bass. HITS can only skim the surface of Mitchell's prolific output; a truly thorough chronicle would require a box set. But every song here is a gem, and this is a perfect place for the uninitiated to begin. SKU: 1005099

Why Do They Rock So Hard [PA]
Reel Big Fish: Aaron Barrett (vocals, guitar, synthesizer); Scott Klopfenstein (vocals, trumpet, keyboards); Dan Regan (vocals, trombone) Matt Wong (vocals, bass); Travis Werts (trumpet, flugelhorn); Grant Barry (trombone); Andrew Gonzales (drums). Additional personnel: Coolie Ranx (vocals); "Hammond" Sam Avila (Hammond B-3 organ); Brandon Werts (percussion); True: 129 (scratches); The Gang (background vocals). Principally recorded at Sunset Sound Recorders and Music Grinders, Hollywood, California. The melodic ska horn section is still inevidence, as is the goofy, sarcastic humor of Reel Big Fish's debut, but this second album from the Huntington Beach, California ska-rockers actually does rock harder. There's serious guitar work here, some of it reminiscent of 70's guitar rock, and it aggressively leads the way on many of the album's songs, punctuated by hyperactive horn melodies, and with a couple of pauses for some true-blue ska (notably on "Song #3" and "The Kids Don't Like It"). Lyrically, Reel Big Fish refuses to take much seriously, expressing irritation ("You Don't Know"), jealousy ("I Want Your Girlfriend to Be My Girlfriend, Too"), and utter contempt ("Big Star") with the same sophomoric silliness that characterized TURN THE RADIO OFF. Open Your Eyes
This OPEN YOUR EYES is a limited edition CD which debuts the surround sound process SAIL pioneered by Seattle Audio Imaging Labs, Inc. Yes: Jon Anderson (vocals); Steve Howe (guitar, steel, mandolin, banjo, vocals); Billy Sherwood (guitar, keyboards, vocals); ChrisSquire (bass, harmonica, vocals); Alan White (drums, percussion, vocals). Additional personnel: Igor Khoroshev, Steve Porcaro (keyboards). Yes is a finely tuned machine that keeps on running like an antique car in mint condition. There is no reason for the band to change the signature features that make it what it is and make it great. On OPEN YOUR EYES classical guitars give way to sudden explosions of virtuoso electric solos; synthesizers soar off into the stratosphere and a dizzying array of incongruous elements all fall into line to create a symbiotic and unified sound. But the jewels in the Yes crown are the ethereal vocals; the synchronized dissonant and concordant harmonies that at once conjure Gregorian chant, space travel, and the heavenly firmament itself. If the Sistine Chapel ceiling could sing out at you, it would probably sound like Yes. For fans, the pristine pedestal on which the band perches will remain soundly unshaken; OPEN YOUR EYES is exactly what they do best, just more of it. The lyrical theme is predominantly enlightenment, tolerance and abiding, unmarred hope. It's the alternative to alternative...disciplined, earnest and magical. For non-initiates OPEN YOUR EYES is a perfect eye-opener into the distinctive world of YES. SKU: 1016946

Drops Of Jupiter [SACD]
This is a Super Audio CD playable only on Super Audio CD players. Train: Pat Monahan (vocals, saxophone, trumpet, percussion); Jimmy Stafford (guitar, mandolin, background vocals); Rob Hotchkiss (guitar, harmonica, bass, background vocals); Charlie Colin (guitar, bass, background vocals); Scott Underwood (keyboards, drums, percussion, programming). Additional personnel includes: Paul Buckmaster (conductor, arranger). Recorded at Southern Tracks Recording, Atlanta, Georgia; Capitol Studios, Hollywood, California; and Ocean Way, Nashville, Tennessee. "Drops Of Jupiter" won the 2002 Grammy Awards for Best Rock Song and for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s). The band that brought "Meet Virginia" to the ears of the nation's youth via heavy-rotation MTV airplay in 1999 delivers its sophomore effort with the aid of producer Brendan O' Brien (who has twiddled knobs for the likes of the Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam). Paul Buckmaster, whose stellar credits include cello on David Bowie's "Space Oddity," also provides some arrangement assistance. But the band sounds best when it appears to be left to its own devices, on tracks such as "It's About You," and "Hopeless," a downtempo cruise through contemporary alienation and angst that builds to a meaty crescendo. For fans of breezy summer music there's "She's On Fire," and the band rocks out more than somewhat on "Respect." But mostly what Train does best is the wounded, introverted slow-burner, as evidenced by "Mississippi," which is a classic of its bruised, troubled kind. SKU: 6494143

Gordon
Barenaked Ladies: Ed Robertson (vocals, guitar, banjo); Steven Page (vocals, guitar); Jim Creeggan (vocals, acoustic bass); Tyler Stewart (vocals, drums); Andy Creeggan (vocals, congas). Released at the height of the grunge era, this Canadian group's debut was unlike any other album issued in 1992. While the Barenaked Ladies' cheerful pop tends to focus on exhuberant melody, they rock harder than you would expect for a band whose sound relies so heavily of intricate vocal interplay, snapping acoustic bass and fluid acoustic piano work. Though the band has since released several very successful albums, GORDON remains the definitive Barenaked Ladies disc. Many of their best-known songs are here: including "Be My Yoko Ono," a good natured tribute to John Lennon's often misunderstood wife, apoignant reflection on the mental illness of the Beach Boy legend called "Brian Wilson" and "If I Had A Million dollars," a fun-filled song that still inspires fans to hurl macaroni and cheese at the band every time the song is performed in concert. Although the Ladies have since tried to tone down the humorous content of their music, the band has yet to surpass GORDON's perfect blend of first-class musicianship, excellent songwriting and limitless wit and charm. Uh-oh
Personnel includes: David Byrne (vocals, guitar, whistles); Angel Fernandez (trumpet, piano, flugelhorn); Lewis Kahn, Felix Farrar, Patmore Lewis, Lloyd Carter (violin); Enrique Orengo, Akua Dixon (cello); Melanie Feld (oboe); Steve Sacks (clarinet, alto & tenor saxophones, flute); Ronnie Cuber (bass clarinet, baritone saxophone); Dick Oatts (alto saxophone); Lawrence Feldman, Lewis Del Gatto, Ken Hitchcock (tenor saxophone); Joe Shepley, Charlie Sepulveda, Ite Jerez (trumpet); Christopher Washburne (tenor & bass trombones); Gerald Chamberlain (tenor trombone); John Clark, Fred Griffen (French horn); Marc Quinones (pens & whistles, sound effects); Oscar Salas (drums, percussion); Milton Cardona (bata drums). Recorded at Power Station, Sigma Sound, The Hit Factory, Platinum Island and Electric Lady Studios, New York, New York. After years of musical experimentation and adventures into world music, David Byrne takes his unconventional approach back to Talking Heads punk/funk. But it's spiced by Latin beats and a dazzling array of musicians; the result is a delectably fresh hybrid of modern rock and Latin pop. The music swings, always with a sense of fun. Byrne's metaphysical lyrics mesmerize as usual, and the art student from the grimy city once again manages to take flight on his organic world-beat rhythms. The influences here runrampant: "She's Mad," for instance, harks back to early Heads--determined and primitively crunchy--and then suddenly turns into a breezy samba. The album title comes from Byrne's fiercely sung "Something Ain't Right," but everything IS right on UH-OH. SKU: 1004605

Open Your Eyes [ECD]
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Goldfinger: John Feldman (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Kelly Lemieux (vocals, guitar, bass); Darrin Pfeiffer (vocals, drums); Brian Arthur (guitar). Additional personnel: Showoff, Benji, Bert McCraken (vocals); Donny Campion, Charlie Paulson (guitar). Goldfinger burst onto the scene in 1996 with frenetic ska-core laced with pop hooks. The mid-life adolescent yearning of "Here In Your Bedroom" off the band's eponymous debut was pretty much it for them in the pop world. While many who tasted one round of top-40 success during that period completely fell into obscurity (Nada Surf, Primitive Radio Gods), Goldfingermanaged to retain a fan base, avoiding backlash for crossing over, even managing to maintain decent sales long after ska's third flirtation with mass consumption flared out. What's more amazing is that Goldfinger's brand of goofy/cheeky, brash, Ramone-descended pop-punk remains fresh on OPEN YOUR EYES, with catchy songs 10 times more deft and intelligent than many similarly bred bands. Goldfinger expertly takes on such bands on the cavalier "Spokesperson" ("what happened to honesty/I don't hear it in the top 10") and offers a hilarious take on Limp Bizkit acolytes in the opening of "Woodchuck." Still, they have sufficient bratty charm to somehow preserve sincerity while unironically chanting "long live my radio, it never lets me down." SKU: 1072739

After Bathing At Baxter's
This newly remastered 2003 deluxe edition contains bonus tracks. Jefferson Airplane: Paul Kantner, Jorma Kaukonen (vocals, guitar); Grace Slick (vocals, recorder, piano); Marty Balin (vocals); Jack Casady (bass); Spencer Dryden (drums). Recorded at RCA, Hollywood, California. Originallyreleased on RCA (4545). Includes liner notes by Bill Thompson and Jeff Tamarkin. Bitten by the '60s San Francisco bug of extended musical explorations, the Jefferson Airplane flew into song-suites on AFTER BATHING AT BAXTER'S. But rather than being an organic jam-fest, BAXTER'S took the Airplane's singular white R&B jams and bled them into one another. The "Streetmasse" suite, for instance, combines two typically electrifying Airplane performances--"The Ballad Of You & Me & Pooneil" and "Young Girl Sunday Blues," both of which give off the adrenaline of an Americanized early Who with female harmony vocals--through a warped pastiche of vocal and percussive noodling ("A Small Package Of Value Will Come To You, Shortly"). San Francisco's cultural evolution didn't just affect the structure of the songs on AFTER BATHING AT BAXTER'S. No longer hiding behind the metaphors of the first two albums, the Airplane were now openly voicing the thoughts of their constituency--"There is a new way of thinking," sings Paul Kantner on his "Wild Tyme," and the very title of the "Hymn To An Older Generation" suite speaks for itself. "Spare Chaynge" is a nearly ten-minute instrumental led by Jorma Kaukonen's spaced-out guitar, the closest the Airplane had yet come to the musical free-for-all of their San Francisco brethren. Praise
Personnel: Roy Haynes (drums); Kenny Garrett (soprano & alto saxophones); David Sanchez (tenor saxophone); Graham Haynes (cornet, flugelhorn); David Kikoski (piano); Dwayne Burno (bass); Daniel Moreno (percussion). Recorded at Systems II, Brooklyn, New York from May 3-5, 1998. Includes liner notes by Ken Micallef, Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Dave Kikoski and Joshua Redman. As one of the reigning elder statesmen of jazz, Roy Haynes has his pick of the finest sidemen in the world. His assembled entourage for PRAISE is an ensemble worthy of Haynes' unequaled strengths as a drummer and bandleader. The horn line for the tracks that feature the entire group include the young titans David Sanchez (tenor), Kenny Garret (alto) and Graham Haynes (flugelhorn/cornet). Surrounding himself with rhythm section-mates Dwayne Burno (bass), David Kikoski (piano) and Daniel Moreno (percussion), Haynes is in full stride in what some would call the twilight of his years. Those that say that, however, would only need to listen to this master's powerful drumming to realize their error. Opening with Chick Corea's "Mirror Mirror," Haynes directs his charges with a bouncing waltz beat that jabs and twists through the twirling progressions. The Middle Eastern-flavored "After Sunrise" follows with hypnotic chanting that leads into a mid-tempo groove charms the listener like a snake. Standards such as the swinging "Israel" and the pretty ballad "The Touch Of Your Lips" make familiar platforms for Haynes andhis younger counterparts to jump into some exceptionally creative interplay. Of special note, the Haynes/Garrett duo on Bird's "My Little Suede Shoes" is stunning, to say the least. Other Standout tracks include the smooth trio groove of McCoy Tyner's "Blues On The Corner" and Haynes' melodic solo spot "Shades Of Senegal." SKU: 1003017

Rotten Apples (Greatest Hits)
GREATEST HITS contains 2 previously unreleased tracks.A bonus disc entitled JUDAS O RILEY containing B-sides and rarities will be included in this package for a limited time only upon initial release. Smashing Pumpkins: Billy Corgan, D'Arcy, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlain. Producers include: Butch Vig, Billy Corgan, Flood, Alan Moulder, Kerry Brown. Compilation producer: Jennifer Quinn. Throughout the '90s, The Smashing Pumpkins used a mixture of prog-rock, dream-pop, psychedelia and heavy metal to drag the emerging alt-rock movement kicking and screaming into the mainstream. GREATEST HITS puts these fine finest moments on display along with a pair of previously unreleased cuts. Billy Corgan's brilliant leadership mixed angst-ridden lyrics with the kind of interplay with fellow guitarist James Iha that found the duo using different shadings of distortion the way artists use paint. Opening with the controlled chaos of "Siva," the chronological path makes pit-stops at the awesome power of "Cherub Rock," sweet optimism of "Today," lush beauty of "Tonight, Tonight" and electronica shadings of "Ava Adore." Along the way, Corgan's sentimental side found him embracing Fleetwood Mac's bittersweet "Landslide" and coming up with his own brilliant pop moments like "1979" and "Bullet With Butterfly Wings." The Limited Edition version features a second disc entitled JUDAS O, a collection of B-sides and outtakes that serves as a companion to the 1994 B-sides collection PISCES ISCARIOT. Key cuts on this bonus CD include the rumbling ruminations of "Set The Ray To Jerry" and shimmering heaviness of the previously unreleased "Slow Dawn." SKU: 1067666

Songs To Grow On For Mother & Child
Producer: Moses Asch. Reissue producers: Anthony Seeger, Matt Walters. Originally releasedon Folkways (7015) in 1956 and (7016) in 1985. Digitally remastered by Joe Gastwirt (Ocean View Digital, West Los Angeles, California). Woody Guthrie wrote more songs in his lifetime than most people ever sing. Fortunately, he also found time to turn his attentions towards writing songs especially for parents and children. The lovely thing about these nursery-rhyme-like songs is that they display a refreshing lack of sentimentality, abounding instead with a sense of "let's get loose" fun. Guthrie clearly understands the special relationship between parent and child. He always keeps the emotional tone honest and in the moment. These songs are never heavy, but the power of these miniatures is far from lightweight. Guthrie accompanies himself on acoustic guitar or, as on the slyly philosophical opener ("Grassy Grass Grass"), with drums on the tabletop. The feeling of spontaneity and exuberance in these stripped-down performances exemplifies the folk stance that not only "anyone can sing" but "everyone should sing." SKU: 5055894

Dance, The
Fleetwood Mac: Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, John McVie, Stevie Nicks. Additional personnel includes: Brett Tuggle (guitar, keyboards, background vocals); Neale Heywood (guitar, background vocals); Lenny Castro (percussion); Sharon Celani,Mindy Stein (background vocals); USC Trojan Marching Band. Producers: Lindsey Buckingham, Elliot Scheiner. Recorded live in Hollywood, California. THE DANCE was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Pop Album. "Silver Springs" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. "The Chain" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. Inasmuch as Fleetwood Mac's classic 1970s albums drew much of their charm from their quirky arrangements and fastidious studio craft, it's a bit odd that the band would choose to reunite with a live, largely unplugged album. But somehow, the first album by the Fleetwood-McVie-McVie-Buckingham-Nicks lineup since 1987's TANGO IN THE NIGHT manages to recapture a good deal of the old feel, which had a lot to do with three very different singer-songwriters agreeing to live together under the umbrella of a single flexible rhythm section. After dispensing with the group effort "The Chain," which leads off this set, the reconstituted Mac spends the rest of the album showing off its separate parts for the distinct elements they are, while mixing a few new songs into a collection of classics. Lindsey Buckingham rips through the late-period hit "Big Love" unaccompanied, compensating for his shrinking vocal range with some blistering guitar picking. Stevie Nicks stretches out "Rhiannon" like one of her flowing dresses, with a piano-ballad opening. Christine McVie, whose alluring, matronly rock voice remains undiminished, offers the lovely new "Temporary One," which, one hopes, doesn't describe this reunion. SKU: 1005316

Live At Carnegie Hall [Remastered]
Personnel: Miles Davis (trumpet); Gil Evans (arranger, conductor); Hank Mobley (tenor saxophone); Ernie Royal, Bernie Glow, Johnny Coles, Louis Mucci (trumpet); Jimmy Knepper, Dick Hixon, Frank Rehak (trombone); Julius Watkins, Paul Ingrahan, Bob Swisshelm (French horn); Bill Barber (tuba); Romeo Penque, Jerome Richardson, Eddie Caine, Bob Tricarico, Danny Bank (reeds); Janet Putnam (harp); Wynton Kelly (piano); Paul Chambers (bass); Jimmy Cobb (drums); Bobby Rosengarden (percussion). Producer: Teo Macero. Reissue producer: Michael Cuscuna. Recorded live at Carnegie Hall, New York, New York on May 19, 1961. Includes liner notes by Bob Blumenthal. Digitally remastered by Mark Wilder (Sony Music Studios, New York, New York). This two-CD set makes the entire Carnegie Hall concert of May 19, 1961 available again in its entirety. The Miles Quintet at the time--the post-Coltrane, pre-Shorter era band, with its sound balancing bop and cool schools--is joined by an orchestra arranged and conducted by Miles' longtime friend/frequent collaborator Gil Evans. The recording has more than its share of assets. The sound is pristine. Miles' playing is heartbreaking, romantic, and searingly beautiful. The late Hank Mobley's performance proves he is one of jazz history's most under-appreciatedsoloists (with that firm yet creamy-soft-at-its-core tenor tone). The orchestration, which balances jazz with subtle classical influences, compliments Miles' band but does not compete with it. One of the best live Miles albums available. SKU: 1011666
