Super Natural
Personnel: Robben Ford (vocals, guitar); Michelle Richards, Denyse Buffum, Joel Derouin, Steve Richards (strings); David Woodford (saxophone); Lee Thornburg (trumpet); Russell Ferrante (acoustic & electric pianos); Michael McDonald (piano, background vocals); Ricky Peterson (Hammond B-3 organ); Greg Kurstin (Moog & ARP synthesizers); Jimmy Earl (bass); Vinnie Colaiuta (drums); Luis Conte (percussion); Sweet Pea Atkinson, Kevin Sandbloom, Anne Kerry Ford, Julie Christensen, Perla Batalla, David Batteau (background vocals). Principally recorded at Sunset Sound Studios, Los Angeles, California. All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology. While his refined talent remains consistent, each of Robben Ford's albums are separate entities all their own. SUPERNATURAL is the guitarist's boldest venture into what can only be described as blue-eyed soul--craftily written songs that reflect Ford's blues roots, but with a sleek R&B sheen that comes across like fine satin. His guitar playing is superb, as usual; wailing, passionate solos are a result of Ford's extensive apprenticeship with many blues masters while in his teens. It is Ford's light, clear vocal style that gets the most attention, as he assumes the role of a pop songster with a soulful bent. With the help of top-flight studio players like Vinnie Colaiuta, Jimmy Earl, Russell Ferrante and Luis Conte, Ford's efforts reveal him to be an honest spokesman for quality adult-contemporary songs that aren't afraid to push the artistic envelope just a wee bit. Highlights of the disc include the gospel-flavored "Water For The Wicked," the funky "Nothing For Nobody," the acoustic ballad "If" and Paul Butterfield's "Lovin' Cup." SKU: 3104488

Dance Hall At Louse Point
Personnel: John Parish, Polly Jean Harvey; Mick Harvey (organ, bass, guitar). Producers: John Parish, Polly Jean Harvey, Mick Harvey. Recorded at Small World Studios, Yeovil, England between February 12 and March 10, 1996. A more deconstructed version of the twisted, gothic-blues sound she has explored on her own albums, DANCE HALL finds PJ Harvey concentrating on words, delegating the compositional and instrumental duties to her longtime accomplice, multi-instrumentalist John Parish. Parish's dark, scaly guitar work and raw, angular percussion create the perfect backdrop for Harvey's songpoetry. Like her hero Nick Cave (Cave's right-hand man Mick Harvey--no relation to PJ--is the only other musician credited on DANCE HALL), Harvey employs a blues sensibility more overheard than inherited as a starting point for very British tales of death and dismay. Such material might easily cross the line into pretension were it notfor the solid artistic vision that informs Harvey's writing and empowers her delivery. Each song on DANCE HALL has an air of foreboding and mystery that draws the listener into a world of whispers and secrets that are simultaneously tantalizing and unsettling. SKU: 1000694

Life Of Surprises, A (The Best Of Prefab Sprout)
Prefab Sprout: Paddy McAloon (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Wendy Smith (vocals); Marty McAloon (bass); Neil Conti (drums). After the commercial success of 1988's FROM LANGLEY PARK TO MEMPHIS and the universal critical huzzahs following 1990's JORDAN: THE COMEBACK, Prefab Sprout could take its time crafting a follow-up, which is why the exemplary ANDROMEDA HEIGHTS wasn't released until 1997. In the meantime, CBS/Sony released the 16-track hits compilation A LIFE OF SURPRISES. Named after a track from 1989'spreviously U.K.-only PROTEST SONGS, the compilation includes classic Prefab Sprout singles like "The King of Rock and Roll," "When Love Breaks Down," "Faron Young," "Goodbye Lucille #1," and "Cars and Girls," along with a number of tracks from Prefab Sprout's five previous albums. There is also one new track, "The Sound of Crying." As brilliant as Prefab Sprout's individual albums are, this excellent compilation is the definitive introduction to Paddy McAloon's unique, Gershwin- and Porter-influenced songwriting. SKU: 1003854

Irrlicht
Personnel includes: Klaus Schulze (keyboards). A founding member of such notable Krautrock ensembles as Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel, and Cosmic Jokers, Klaus Schulze is genuinely deserving of the oft-assigned "father of modern electronic music" title. The drummer-turned-master-of-a-million-synthesizers did not remain with any single unit for very long. Instead, Schulze embarked on a bewilderingly prolific solo career that seeded the fertile paths of new age, ambient, trance, and techno music. 1972's IRRLICHT is where it all begins. Over three lengthy tracks, saturnine string motifs are pitted against surging drone and sheeting downpours of synthetic organ. It's a dense, often blisteringly dissonant clash of orchestral crescendos and synthesizer swellswith little in the way of conventional melody, but texture and tonal complexity to burn. "Satz Ebene" sounds like one of Bach's magisterial pipe-organ works performed on a distant planet's barren surface. "Satz Gewitter" is a harrowing coda fortified with sci-fi sonics. The contemplative "Satz Exil Sils Maria" encroaches like a lunar dusk as Schulze slowly draws a curtain of cosmic shadow over the event horizon. SKU: 4126392

Homegrown
XTC: Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding. Recorded at Andy Partidge and Colin Moulding's home studios in England. Includes liner notes by Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding. As they did with APPLE VENUS VOLUME ONE and its companion demo album HOMESPUN, XTC offers up this peek at the making of their APPLE VENUS VOLUME TWO (WASP STAR). Reduced to a duo of Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding, XTC continues to work as they have for most of their history, individually creating detailed demos of their songs at their own home studios. Both writers have fairly detailed and explicit notions for the shape of their songs, with these demos sounding remarkably like their finished counterparts, albeit with not as much sonic breadth (some were done direct to cassette and none have the real drums which we utilized on the final recordings). A few numbers are heard in a couple of different versions, showing the course of development moving nicelyforward. The 24-page booklet has the duo providing their annotations about the songs' origins and evolution, along with early drafts of their lyrics. SKU: 1058503

VH1 Divas Live [SACD]
This is the limited edition digipack version of DIVAS LIVE. Includes liner notes by Wayne Isaak. In an undeniably canny move, VH1 brought together the most beloved singers from the country, R&B and pop worlds for an all-outdiva-fest. As a marketing strategy, producing a concert including Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan, Shania Twain, Celine Dion and Aretha Franklin is an infallible plan. As the recorded document of that event makes clear, the participants and their pocketbooks weren't alone in benefiting from the experience, though. Fans of any and/or all of these celebrated female vocalists are treated to some stellar live performances that benefit from the energy only a concert experience can provide. Most of the singers get solo spots, where they attack their respective classics with renewed fervor. The most interesting aspect of DIVAS LIVE, though, is the collaboration that enlivens "You've Got A Friend," "A Natural Woman" and "Testimony," where the vocalists combine their musical might for a rousing finale that glows with the warmth of sisterhood. Deram Anthology 1966-1968, The
This is a collection of singles and rare tracks recorded by David Bowie on the Deram label. Personnel includes: David Bowie (vocals). Recorded between 1966 and 1968. Includes liner notes by Mark Adams. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Prior to his transformation into the Thin White Duke, Ziggy Stardust or any of a half dozen personas that he's taken on throughout his career, David Bowie was just another art student struggling to make the leap to fame and fortune. THE DERAM ANTHOLOGY is a fascinating look into the early workings of a legendary artist. Bowie's mucking about for a hit included Anthony Newley-influenced numbers ("Rubber Band"), a novelty song ("The Laughing Gnome") swinging London lounge ("Love You Till Tuesday") and pale imitations of early Pink Floyd ("She's Got Medals.") Other more notable attempts to distinguish these numbers included adding lots of orchestration ("The London Boys"), weather-related sound effects ("Please Mr. Gravedigger") and kitschy banjo and clavinet arrangements ("Did You Ever Have A Dream"). After spending almosttwo years recording and watching his singles get roundly ignored by the public, Bowie started forming his unique style upon working with new producer Tony Visconti in late 1967 (This association would last another 13 years). Some of the earliest numbers of these sessions included the psychedelic folk of Bowie's mixed media trio Feathers on "Ching-A-Ling," the baroque grandiosity of "When I Live My Dream" and an early version of "Space Oddity," which is where it all started. Plastic Surgery Disasters/In God We Trust Inc.
2 LPs on 1 CD: PLASTIC SURGERY DISASTERS (1982)/IN GOD WE TRUST, INC. (1981). The Dead Kennedys: Jello Biafra (vocals); East Bay Ray (guitar); Klaus Flouride (bass); D.H. Pelligro (drums). Digitally remastered by John Cuniberti and East Bay Ray (The Plant Mastering, Sausalito, California). PLASTIC SURGERY DISASTERS: Additional personnel includes: Melissa Webber (spoken vocals); Dave Barrett, Geoffrey Lyall, Bruce Ackely (horns); Ninotchka (background vocals). Producers: Thom Wilson, East Bay Ray, The Dead Kennedys, Geza X. Engineers: Olivier DiCicco, John Cuniberti, Mark Wallner. Recorded at Hyde Street Studios and Mobius Music, San Francisco, California. IN GOD WE TRUST, INC.: Additional personnel includes: Geoffrey Lyall, Ninotchka, Annette, HyJean, Darvon, Siobhan. Producers: Norm, East Bay Ray. Engineer: Oliver DiCicco. The epic sweep of PLASTIC SURGERY DISASTERS, in both sonic texture and thematic depth, sets it apart as one of punk's most highly evolved musical and artistic statements. Vocalist Jello Biafra's rage had developed into a calmer but more strident kind of anger. Fortified by a wider variety ofsounds, including horns, clarinets, and East Bay Ray's rich palette of aggressive guitar textures, this album attacked the usual DK targets. Our bloated, mentally lazy consumer culture is lambasted in the thick, intimidating "Buzzbomb" and the stingingly sarcastic "Winnebago Warrior." Several of society's more insidious archetypes are taken on as well, as in the goofy "Terminal Preppie," and the furious, adrenaline-fueled "Well Paid Scientist." Firmly in place are Biafra's trademark paranoid anti-government diatribes; society's false sense of security is addressed in the breakneck-speed rant of "Government Flu," the far-reaching metaphor of "Trust Your Mechanic," and the angry theatrics of "I Am The Owl." Cosmo's Factory [Remastered]
Creedence Clearwater Revival: John Fogerty (vocals, guitar); Tom Fogerty (guitar); Stu Cook (bass); Doug Clifford (drums). Includes liner notes by Robert Christgau. Digitally remastered utilizing the 20-Bit K2 Super Coding System by Shigeo Miyamoto (JVC Studios). Described as the consummate singles act, Creedence Clearwater Revival enhanced this reputation when three of the tracks included herein, 'Travelin' Band', 'Up Around The Bend' and 'Looking Out My Back Door', each achieved gold status. Such recordings fully captured the group's exciting brand of 50s-orientated rock 'n' roll, its urgency enhanced by the expressive voice of lead singer/songwriter John Fogerty. His ability to harness traditional pop but express it in a contemporarymanner had been established over four previous albums and Cosmos Factory was no exception. Two extended selections, 'Ramble Tamble' and 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine', show a penchant for guitar workouts unexplored since the quartet's debut album, and the combination of economy and experimentation captures an act at a creative peak. Idiology
Mouse On Mars: Jan St. Werner, Andi Toma. Additional personnel includes: DodoNkishi (vocals); Matthew Herbert (piano); Matty Arouse (violin); Harold "Sack" Ziegler (trumpet, French horn); Adam "Vert" Butler, F.X. Randomiz (programming). On IDIOLOGY, the German electronic duo who brought new meaning to the term "electronic pop" subtly expand the Mouse on Mars sound without abandoning their previously established style. The skittering beats, rubbery electro-basslines and loopy sense of humor that were hallmarks of past MOM releases still play a major role here. The sonic palette is, however, broadened on several levels, from shifting, atmospheric string textures to free-jazz sax tones, greater use of vocals, and the presence of a straight-up ska tune, IDIOLOGY finds Mouse on Mars venturing into areas only hinted at on earlier recordings. The result is a disc that admirably combines quirky, beat-conscious groove thangs with the tasty tones of a unique brand of neo-mood music for our twisted times. SKU: 1055047

Excuses For Travellers
Mojave 3: Rachel Goswell (vocals, bass); Neil Halstead (vocals); Simon Rowe (guitar); Alan Forrester (keyboards); Ian McCutcheon (drums). Additional personnel includes: Melvin Duffy (pedal steel guitar); Kevin Wells (banjo); Mark Armstrong (trumpet). Engineers include: Gareth Parton, Dave Mercer, Nuno De Silva. Mojave 3 proves what shoegazer royalty Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell's former band Slowdive hinted at all along: great songwriting speaks for itself, whether swaddled in blissed-out textures or wrapped up with pedal-steel guitar and strings. EXCUSES FOR TRAVELLERS rambles right back down the dusty trail, with another clutch of superb songs and far greater confidence. "In Love With a View," "Prayer for the Paranoid," and "She Broke You So Softly" are the stuff of sheer, epic beauty. Mojave 3 heaps stirring choruses, soaring vocals, and bravado guitar breaks upon Halstead's poignant story songs. Perfectly placed instrumental accents and Goswell's gossamer harmonies add further layers of loveliness. Mojave 3 does its influences proud, combining the tale-spinning craft of Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons, and Jimmy Webb with Nick Drake's aching candor on "My Life in Art" and "When You're Drifting." The gently rocking "Return to Sender" and "Any Day Will Be Fine" demonstrate Halstead's uncanny knack for summoningtimeless melodies from thin air. "Got My Sunshine" makes for a gorgeous, gospel-flavored closer, though the US edition extends EXCUSES FOR TRAVELLERS with two fine B-side tracks. SKU: 1033135

Carl And The Passions - So Tough/Holland [Remastered]
2 LPs on 2 discs: CARL AND THE PASSIONS: SO TOUGH (1972)/HOLLAND (1973). The Beach Boys: Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, Mike Love, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Blondie Chaplin, Ricky Fataar. Compilation producers: Cheryl Pawelski & Paul Atkinson. CARL AND THE PASSIONS - SO TOUGH: Producers include: Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, Mike Love, Dennis Wilson, Blondie Chaplin. Engineer: Steve Moffitt. Recorded at Brother Studios, Los Angeles, California between December 1971 & April 1972. Originally released on Brother/Reprise (MS-2083). Includes liner notes by Elton John & McCaughey. HOLLAND: Additional personnel: Charles Lloyd, Billy Hinsche, Roger Van Otterloo, Marilyn Wilson, Gerry Beckley, Frank Mayes, Bruce Johnston, Tony Martin. Producers: The Beach Boys. Engineers: Stephen Moffitt, Rob Fabroni, Rob Fabroni. Recorded at Baambrugge, The Netherlands. Originally released on Brother/Reprise (MS-2118). Includes liner notes by Tom Petty & Scott McCaughey. Digitally remastered by Andrew Sandoval & Dan Hersch (DigiPrep). These two albums, criminally underrated in their day (1972-3), make their long-overdue CD debuts in stunningly remastered versions. Even ifyou think you know this material, you'll still be picking up fresh instrumental and vocal details. Musically, this ranges from the merely charming to the seraphically beautiful, and the amazing thing is that Brian Wilson wrote so little of it and that the individual band members produced. Obviously there was more than enough talent in the band by this time to go around. High points include "Make it Good" and "Cuddle Up," two stunning orchestral love songs from Dennis Wilson (liner note writer Scott McCaughey accurately compares them to Richard Strauss and Scott Walker); "Marcella," one of the band's all-time best and most infectious rockers; the semi-hit "Sail On Sailor," and Carl Wilson's astonishing "Trader," which begins as a chugging blue-eyed soul number ala "Wild Honey" before switching gears into a haunting piece of minimalism with ravishing group harmonies. As a bonus, this also features the CD debut of Brian's charming little children's fairy tale "Mt. Vernon and Fairway" (originally packaged as a seven-inch bonus EP); it's deliberately slight, but the instrumental snippets that gird it have an undeniable magic. SKU: 1040403

Walking Wounded
Everything But The Girl: Ben Watt (vocals, acoustic guitar, synthesizers, programming); Tracey Thorn (vocals). Additional personnel: Howie B (programming, scratches); Spring Heel Jack (programming). Producers: Ben Watt, Spring Heel Jack, Howie B, Todd Terry, Omni Trio. Engineers include: Ben Watt, Mads Bjerke, Matthius H. Recorded at Little Joey's, Milo and The Strongroom, London, England in 1995. Ben and Tracey went clubbing last night and decided to go straight from the dance floor to the studio. They emerge with WALKING WOUNDED, an album that features Tracey's plaintive vocals backed by layers of electronic percussion. Tracey's soul-baring singing pulls you into the songs--we ride with her atop waves of drum beats and dreamy orchestrations in dance styles that vary from jungle to hip-hop to house. The combination brings about an interesting sensation: The beats move your feet while her wistful voice eases you into a state of relaxation. Melody and melancholy are wrapped together in these dance-sized pieces. Soare crossover and hit: In Europe, a remix of the title song was the first true pop/jungle hit. (Simultaneously in the U.S., a remix of "Missing," a track from the band's previous album, AMPLIFIED HEART, stayed on the Billboard pop chart for more than a year, longer than any single in Billboard history.) No Roses
This album's significance rivals that of Dylan's plugging in at Newport. Shirley Collins joins the electrified Albion Country Band, which featured members of Fairport Convention, including Richard Thompson and Ashley Hutchings. This is a startling confluence of forms, as the full rock sound meets Shirley's enchanting balladry. Touching on love and loss, murder and rebirth, these songs are sometimes harrowing yet immensely satisfying in their delivery. "Murder of Maria Marten" illustrates that point as deep textures coalesce making for a driving, almost Celtic rock sound. "The Little Gypsy Girl" driftsabout in a smoky haze. NO ROSES is another bit of proof that Collins is one of the finest interpreters of English ballad and song, and going electric does nothing but enhance her artistry. SKU: 6569806

Anthology 1968-1993
Can: Michael Karoli (vocals, guitar); Irmin Schmidt (vocals, keyboards); Holger Czukay (vocals, bass); Jaki Leibezeit (drums); Malcolm Mooney, Damo Suzuki (vocals). Between its 1968 inception in Cologne, Germany as a rock outlet for classically trained keyboardist Irmin Schmidt and jazz bassist Holger Czukay and its eventual dissolution in the late '70s, Can was an ever-mutating, endlessly innovative entity. With brilliant guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Michael Karoli, incomparable vocalist Kenji "Damo" Suzuki, and Czukay and human drum-machine Jaki Liebezeit at its core--one of the better rhythm sections ever--the deservedly admired and much-imitated Can was nothing less than an unstoppable creative engine. Compiling a definitive "Can-thology" is a daunting prospect. Most of the double-disc ANTHOLOGY's selections are inspired. Included are the entirety of MONSTER MOVIE's serpentine 20-minute"Yoo Doo Right" and propulsive "Father Cannot Yell"; the slinky "She Brings the Rain" (a SOUNDTRACKS favorite); FUTURE DAYS' blissful title track; and such popular singles as "Moonshake" and "Spoon." But questionable edits of the essential "Mother Sky," "Aumgn," "Soup," and "Halleluwah" only offer a taste, and the omission of EGE BAMYASI's fabulous "Vitamin C" is puzzling. Disc two samples generously from all later albums except 1978's Can-despised OUT OF REACH. Though less innovative than the band's unparalleled 1969-1975 material, such tracks as SAW DELIGHT's sun-drenched, polyrhythmic "Animal Waves" and FLOWMOTION's lovely "Cascade Waltz" are no less delightful. Chieftains Vol.7 [Remastered]
The Chieftains: Sean Keane (fiddle, tin whistle); Martin Fay (fiddle, bones); Derek Bell (neo-Irish & mediaeval harps, oboe, tiompan); Michael Tubridy (flute, concertina, tin whistle); Paddy Moloney (Uillean pipes, tin whistle); Sean Potts (tin whistle, bones); Kevin Conneff (bodhran). Producer: Paddy Moloney. Reissue producer: Lawrence Cohn. Recorded at Dublin Sound Studio, Dublin, Ireland. Includes liner notes by David McGee. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Perhaps the most famous of all traditional Irish music groups, the Chieftains are now known worldwide for their dedication to preserving the musical history of Ireland. In 1977, however, the Chieftains had yet to attain the massive popular success thatthey saw in the '90s. Still, their music was as impeccable and virtuosic as ever. When THE CHIEFTAINS 7 was recorded, bodhran player Kevin Conneff had just joined the group. Though his vocal talents would be wonderfully exploited on subsequent releases, he doesn't even sing on this album. Former Chieftain Michael Tubridy also appears here, his concertina featured on three polkas and two slides from Leitrim, Kerry, and Clare. Indeed, Tubridy's performance on "Oh! The Breeches Full of Stitches" brings the record to a climax, recalling a plain dance set in beautiful County Clare. Other songs such as "Friel's Kitchen" and "Away We Go Again" feature fiddler Sean Keane and piper Paddy Maloney, respectively. SKU: 1071843

Falling Into Infinity
Dream Theater: James LaBrie (vocals); John Petrucci (guitar, background vocals); Derek Sherinian (keyboards, background vocals); John Myung (bass, Chapman stick); Mike Portnoy (drums, percussion, background vocals). Additional personnel: Doug Pinnick (vocals); The Del Fuvio Monks. Recorded at Avatar Studios, New York, New York in June & July 1997. Dream Theater's specialty is atmospheric metal, at times heavy, at times sinister, with a sharp techno edge. "New Millennium," the disc's opening cut, defines the sound: ringing guitars, a driving beat,start-stop dynamics and rolling drum crescendos. There's a bit of a Rush influence at work here, as well as ELP and even some Metallica. "Hollow Years" is a quieter track, replete with gentle acoustic guitar, soothing vocals and an inspirational theme about the lifting of old curses and the possibility for redemption. Lead singer James LaBrie has a slightly nasal, but otherwise pleasing modern pop/metal vocal attack, which he exercises with passion throughout. If you like your metal melodic and even, at times, introspective, you should enjoy a visit to this Dream Theater. SKU: 1001331

Tequila
Personnel: Wes Montgomery (guitar); Claus Ogerman (arranger); Bernard Eichenm Arnold Eidus, Paul Gershman, Emanuel Green, Julius Held, Harry Lookofsky, Joe Malin, Gene Orloff (violin); Abe Kessler, Charles McCracken, George Ricci, Harvey Shapiro (cello); George Devens (vibraphone); Ron Carter (bass); Grady Tate (drums); Ray Barretto (congas). Producer: Creed Taylor. Reissue producer: Ben Young. Recorded at the Van Gelder Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey on March 17 & 21 and May 18, 1966. Includes liner notes by Steve Khan and Burt Korall. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit technology by Kevin Reeves (Universal Music Studios-East). This is part of the Verve Records Master Edition series. As Steve Khan observes in his lovingly detailed liner notes, TEQUILA stands as the only album in the Wes Montgomery catalog where the guitarist is not accompanied by a keyboardist of some kind. This, in Khan's opinion, is one of the special things about this album, as it allows one to hear Montgomery's guitar with even greater clarity than usual. Since Louis Armstrong, one of the truisms of jazz has been that a great improviser can spin gold out of the lowest pop dross imaginable. Montgomery certainly had this ability, among his many others, and from around the time of this album on it was called upon more and more frequently. While there's an abundance of small-combo recordings on Riverside, there's also plenty of greatplaying on the Verve albums in general and TEQUILA in particular. And TEQUILA is certainly informative listening for anyone curious about the origins of George Benson's approach on CTI and later on Warner Brothers, or, for that matter, the entire smooth jazz radio concept. Twisted Tenderness
Electronic: Johnny Marr (vocals, guitar, harmonica, bass); Bernard Sumner (vocals, guitar, bass). Additional personnel: Arthur Baker (harmonica, keyboards, scratches); Mac Quayle (keyboards, programming); Merv De Peyer (keyboards); Jimi Goodwin (bass, background vocals); Phil Spalding (bass); Ged Lynch (drums, percussion); Fridge (sound effects, beats); Jason Mad Doctor X (beats, scratches); Astrid Williamson, Lindsay Reed (background vocals). Starting off with a sample from Meat Beat Manifesto's PRIME AUDIO SOUP, these ex-members of British bands The Smiths and New Order (Johnny Marr and Bernard Sumner, respectively) churn out soothing pop melodies. They come from two different styles of music: Sumner is more dance-based, and Marr more into alternative rock, but both made music that was emotional. Produced by Arthur Baker in a matter of weeks, this album sounds raw, indicating that the band have been freed from the burden of expectation that surrounded previous Electronic releases. "Make It Happen," filled with yearning and confusion, sets the somber mood for this album. "Vivid," the first single, sports a harmonica throughout. The surprise on this is the Steve Winwood-penned "Can't Find My Way Home," which features a little ofthe Moog keyboard stylings from the original. The title track is reminiscent of Electronica's first release, with breakbeat-style drums and keyboard orchestrations. SKU: 3106638
